Our Project
- A two-story historic residential structure built in 1902, the Town Hall in the Town of Somerset (part of Chevy Chase, MD) is an important center of government. Used for the mayor’s office, public offices and town meetings, the Somerset Town Hall is integral to the surrounding community and of great value to residents.
- Renovations were required to modernize finishes, add decorative trim, re-paint, address ADA improvements, upgrade electrical wiring and fixtures, replace entry doors and perform plumbing repairs and other cosmetic improvements.
- ThirdWall performed the work as a Construction Manager, working collaboratively with the Architect to accomplish the desired improvements and necessary repairs.
Why ThirdWall?
- The key was ThirdWall’s successful past performance on the Somerset community pool house construction project, which included related site amenities.
- Another important selection factor was ThirdWall’s established relationship with the Architect.
- Negotiating an agreement based on trust and fair pricing brought it all together.
Challenges and Results
- All work had to be coordinated to permit continued use of the facility by town officials.
- Workmanship quality required preservation of the character and style of the structure. This included electrical and plumbing repairs discovered and added during the course of the work.
